I have the distinct honor of dedicating this afternoon's 5.21-mile training run to the cherished memory of Chad Thomas Christy. Born November 10, 1977...he passed from complications from suicide on August 17, 2012. He was a kind soul, everyone's best friend, and would do anything for anyone. He left behind a wife...Angie, and three children…Ben, Allison, and Abbie. Chad loved the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. He enjoyed gardening and raising animals. He loved nights by the fire, and cruising around in his truck. He loved to listen to Johnny Cash and sometimes found peace in that. He was born to two people that were both legally blind and in his death; he was able to give eye sight to two individuals that received his lenses. He worked for his state, and took care of his mother who is legally blind and has cerebral palsy. Thank you Angie for allowing me to run for your husband...and to help remember such an amazing person today! Please share this post and your most beloved memory of Chad's life in the comments section below for all to see. God bless.
