#RHLC2C2C...is kind of a thing now!

I woke up this morning at 6 a.m. just like most mornings, got dressed into my uniform, and drove the familiar path to work just as I have done for the past 12 years. This morning was different though. At 7:45 a.m. I placed my resignation letter on the supervisor's desk informing them that I will not be punching the clock anymore. Yes, choosing to leave the safety and security that has embraced me and my family for a long time. Why? I have something more important to do...I am setting out today to run Coast to Coast to Coast to tell my testimony!

Tony, are you crazy? Yes! Do I have everything planned out to the T? No. Tony, won't your legs fall off or something? Maybe "shoulder shrug." After my recent bout with depression coupled with the tragic loss of Robin Williams, I can see how urgent this message is, and I also see how selfish I am for not trusting God enough to take that bold step. I am not “choosing to do this" ...this chose me. Surly God sees that I am an all-star sinner. I am like, the MVP of sin...why choose me? I'm sure there are better qualified people to do this. I'm not the strongest, smartest, or fastest...I'm the king of average really. A little dude that struggles with confidence at times, that people mistake for a woman when I go through the McDonald's drive-through because of a less than masculine voice in the intercom, lol! God must see potential somewhere...or have a great sense of humor.
By the time you read these words I will be well on my way...out of town...on the first leg of my 10,000+ mile journey.
We all reach a moment in our lives when we must take a step in faith. We will not have everything figured out, we will wish we knew how things will turn out, we would have liked to have everyone's blessings first...but the moment will require a choice and action done in faith. Trusting God will work it out...feed you, clothe you, give you a place to sleep. Understanding that He is the only one that can meet your true needs. What will you do when that moment arrives?
To be honest...I’m tired of talking about the run. Talking about what "I am going to do!" It needs to be about "what is being done now!" No one really cares about what you are "going to do." Good intentions can only take you so far. Tell me what you are doing...and you will have my attention. The daily grind of waking up, putting on the same uniform, and going to work  just to punch the clock...rinse and repeat...day after day...is a wonderful way to earn a living, but just not for me. Not with the passion burning to go and tell! My story must be shared, and the time is now my friends! I'm here to tell you that even if you have struggled with depression...you can do amazing things in life for God! Let me say it again...you WILL do amazing things in life! Not because of who you are, but because of who He is. Not because of what you are doing, but because of what He has already done! Suicide does not have to be an option.

Don't worry my friends...everything about the journey will be tweeted, posted, shared, Instagramed, and Vined. Over the coming days, weeks, and months I will share all the details about how I am doing this, and give you some simple ways to help. Soon I will post information about resuming the run dedications. Thank you my friends and God bless!
