I dedicate the very first leg (14.34 miles) of my cross country adventure to the one who inspired it all...my remarkable, loved, and missed mother Sharyn Smith. She passed away in January of 2000 after having struggled with multiple health issues stemming from diabetes. Her body has long since left us, but her presence never has. I marveled at the strength she possessed...and the will she exhibited to continue on in the face of indigent circumstances. During her last few months with us...knowing her time was short, she offered the following advice to her son:"If there is ever anything you want to do in life. Promise me you will just do it. Don't worry about what other's think. If you try and fail, you can always look back later and say you at least tried. Don't grow older with regrets for acts left undone."
This one is for you mom! I'm not sure what all will be attained by this endeavor, but I know for sure it will not be regret. Please share this post and your most cherished memory of Sharyn's life in the comments section below for all to see. God bless. _____________________________________________________________________ Request a FREE Run Dedication here Follow the Run Dedications on: YouTubeFacebookTwitterInstagramLinkedIn
