I have the high honor of dedicating today's 5.25 mile training run to the beautiful memory of Rodney "Stubby" Lewis Freeman. He passed by the way of suicide in October of 1990...but is loved, missed, and remembered more than ever. Stubby enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, and spending time with his family...especially with his brothers and children swimming at the local Big Rock creek, and... going to Woody's nightclub to shoot pool.
Thank you Tammy for allowing me to honor your dear father today with a run dedication. Tammy offers these words to her dad: "Daddy, I love and miss you more than words can say. I was always so proud of everything about you. Every single day I loved being your little girl. You were my everything. I am still so proud. Until we meet again, you will always be in my heart. Give Misty a hug and kiss from me."
Tammy also offers this advice anyone who has a loved one who is severely depressed: "Urge them to seek help. Always be there for them through their deepest suffering, and on their darkest of days. Never take their pain or threats of self-harm lightly."
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today Tammy...I pray Stubby's memory continues to live on strong forever! Please share and God bless.
