Run Dedication for Randy Rakes

I have the true honor of dedicating today's 8.38 mile training run to the beautiful memory of Randy Rakes. He passed away in July of 2012 by the way of throat cancer, but he left behind an amazing legacy that will forever be remembered. He was a hardworking man who loved the outdoors…you would rarely see him without a chainsaw or a tool in his hands. He truly loved his John Deere tractor! Randy was a man of few words, but the ones he did use…were chosen wisely! He invested most of his adult life working for Volvo, and was a dedicated UAW member. He is remembered as a talented banjo player, and now plays in the band of angels with his mother and father. I send my deepest thoughts and prayers out to all of his family and friends today…as you celebrate the person he was. Thank you Lori for allowing me to honor Randy with a run dedication. I know his memory will continue to bless you forever. Please share this post, and leave a comment below with your most cherished memory of Randy's life. God bless.
