I have the true honor of dedicating today’s 5.04 mile training run to the cherished memory of Luther Albert Woods Jr.(L.A.). Born September 8, 1946...passing on November 6, 2003...L.A. was a loyal employee of ATK (RAAP) for 37 years. An avid rabbit hunter, L.A. could be found “running his dogs” early on Saturday morning’s. He loved his muscle cars especially the 1966 Pontiac GTO. When he wasn’t out with his beagles, he was driving around with his loving wife in his red Corvette enjoying 60s music. He was a loyal Atlanta Braves and Dallas Cowboys fan regardless of whether they were winning or losing. He loved picking with his children and grandchildren, and threatening his children that he was going to move to Arizona. L.A. was a kind, loyal, humble family man who put up a courageous fight against Leukemia, while teaching his family to never give up and fight with grace and dignity. I send my deepest thoughts and prayers out to all of his family and friends today on the anniversary of his passing. While our grief has changed over the last fourteen years, there isn’t a day that passes when we don’t miss him or think of him. We know today while we are missing him, he is dancing with angels. Please share this post and your most beloved memory of his life in the comments section below. God Bless.
