Run Dedication for SSG Paul "PJ" Bernotas Jr.

I have the high honor of dedicating today's 5.01-mile training run to the beloved memory of SSG Paul "PJ" Bernotas Jr. Born April 3, 1987...he passed by the way of suicide on January 8, 2013...but is thought of, remembered, and loved more and more with each passing day. PJ was raised in a small coal mining town in Pennsylvania, and went on to become a true American HERO as he proudly served our great country in the US Army. As an MP stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas...he served during wartime at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba fighting in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). PJ studied criminal justice, loved animals, enjoyed working on cars, and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Today we celebrate the amazing man that he was and will always be...our hearts are still broken! I send my deepest thoughts and prayers out to all of his family and friends...especially his beautiful daughter Aubrey Nicole. Thank you so much Nicole for allowing me this unique opportunity today of running in memory of your brother...I pray his memory continues to live on strong...FOREVER! Please share this post with others and comment below with your fondest memory of PJ's life in the comments section below for all to see. God bless!

  1. Thank you Tony for keeping my brother PJs memory alive by running for him today. This was such a nice surprise! I'm sure he was running right along side of you. He was my best buddy growing up and we had so many fun times throughout our childhood into adulthood. I will miss him forever, but I know he is at peace so that brings me peace. Thanks again Tony!
